  • Sophia Carr-Gomm - Director & Writer

    Sophia Carr-Gomm trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, starting out initially as a professional actor she was in television series such as Shetland (BBC), Mr Selfridge (ITV), World’s End (BBC) as well as theatre such as The Cardinal at The Southwark Playhouse and King Lear at The Citizens Theatre.

    She moved into directing in 2018, alongside working in feature script reading, development and pre-production assisting with Midsummer Films from 2018-2019. She has directed, produced and written many short films, with her first film, The Wider Sun premiering at the BFI Southbank in 2018 and picking up Best Director at Oslo Film Festival. Other films, Nobody’s Darling and Mine have screened at BAFTA qualifying London Short Film Festival, Cambridge Film Festival and Raindance. She was invited to be a panelist at London Film Week 2021 a year after after Nobody’s Darling screened there as an introductory short to Cannes-Award-Winning feature Portrait of a Lady on Fire. She was featured in Pitch Fanzine in 2021 as New Talent to watch and Mine picked up a Shiny Award.

    Since 2022 she has been working as Casting Director Orla O’Connor’s Casting Assistant and has been her right hand woman to casting upcoming television shows The Diplomat (Alibi), Six Four (ITV), Jed Mercurio’s latest series Payback (ITV), Molly & Mack (CBBC) & Shetland Series 8 (BBC). She has been the sole Casting Director on a number of short films and music videos, most notably Sleep Hunger commissioned by Bristol & Bath Creative R&D and We Have Till Dawn a 2022 NFTS graduation film.

    After being commissioned to write and direct four interlinking films for the music A Short Walk composed by Ben Rowarth and sung by the Fieri Consort, she went on to write the libretto for Rowarth’s next music piece The Fall, which will come to performance in 2024. She has most recently been commissioned by the Scottish Documentary Institute as a Producer for a documentary entitled The Sound of the Wind directed and shot by Ukrainian Director/Cinematographer Maria Pankova which follows a Ukrainian refugee in Scotland. She continues to work as a director, writer, producer and in casting, as well as giving Q&A’s and workshops in these subjects to students.

  • Victoria Fäh

    Victoria Fäh (Helvetica Films) is a Swiss producer based in London. She started her journey in the creative industry as an actress, studying acting and photography at UCLA before studying politics at King’s College London.

    She studied filmmaking at New York Film Academy before starting to work alongside Light Artist and Film Producer Gerry Hofstetter, and TimeLineFilm Switzerland. She developed and managed international projects, Light Art Shows and worked on documentaries and commercials as an assistant producer, camera operator and editor.

    She is soon to graduate her part-time Masters specializing in Creative Business for Entrepreneurs and Executives at the National Film and Television School. She worked as a creative producer and in business development at Platonic Films where she was responsible for client acquisition and producing commercials and documentaries. She now works as an associate producer at Anyway Content, a new content group producing scripted and unscripted TV and film for global audiences. The company was founded by former Red Arrow CEO James Baker and British director Oliver Parker (Johnny English Reborn, The Importance of Being Earnest, St Trinians).

    Victoria started her own production company Helvetica Films in 2020 to produce short films and documentaries with social relevance.

  • Ben Rowarth - Composer

    Winner of the NCEM Composers Award (2012) and Leeds International Film Festival Best Documentary Soundtrack (2013).

    Ben receives regular international performances of his choral works in the UK, throughout Europe, the USA and Australia. He has been widely commissioned, including by The Tower of London (2022), The Marian Consort (2021), I Fagiolini (2020), Emmanuel College Cambridge (2019), The London Festival of Contemporary Church Music (2018), York Minster (2015), Merton College Oxford (2014). He has also received commissions for orchestral works from the Edinburgh Incidental Orchestra and Durham University Symphony Orchestra.

    Ben has composed two live soundtracks for plays, music for documentary shorts and collaborated on albums with artists such as singer-songwriter JJ Draper. His music been commercially recorded by ‘ORA’, ‘The Marian Consort’, ‘The Fieri Consort’, ‘Helen Charlston’, ‘Khoros’ and ‘The Rodolfus Choir’. It has also received regular broadcasts on BBC Radio 3, including by internationally acclaimed ensemble ‘The Tallis Scholars’.

    Recent highlights include the completion of ‘The Shepherd Girl’, a Christmas Carol Commissioned by The Tower of London, and ‘The World Around Us’, an environmental education piece commissioned by The Marian Consort for Choir and Children’s Choir. Ben is currently in the process of writing a new large-scale choral work commissioned by Siglo De Oro. For this he is once again working with librettist and film director Sophia Carr Gomm on a dramatic contemporary oratorio that also touches on environmental issues whilst telling the well-known story of the Trojan War. The piece is for Choir, Cello and Electronics.

  • Fieri Consort

    Founded in 2012, Fieri Consort is one of the UK’s most exciting vocal groups, offering a unique blend of technical precision and theatrical innovation.

    Performing without a conductor, Fieri presents innovative and engaging programmes, and specialises in the rich and varied tradition of 16th and 17th century Italian repertoire. Performing a cappella and often accompanied by early instruments, Fieri’s interpretations are informed by the collective experience and knowledge of the group.

    In 2017, Fieri Consort were awarded the Cambridge Prize at the York Early Music Festival. The Consort have released five albums to critical acclaim with their first disc – Tears of a Lover – being awarded ‘Choral Choice’ of the month by BBC Music Magazine.

    In 2019 Fieri made their debut at the Wigmore Hall as part of Dame Emma Kirkby’s 70th birthday celebrations, and premiered their play about the life and music of Barbara Strozzi in collaboration with Wise Child Theatre.

    2014, The Brighton Early Music Festival selected the Fieri Consort to participate in their prestigious Young Artist’s Programme, BREMF Live!, and in the same year, the group embarked on its first international tour to Australia, working with local singers and performing in Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane. In 2017 they returned for a second tour and are planning a third trip. Fieri has featured recorded and live on international radio, BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.

    In 2022, Fieri gave the modern world premiere of Maddalena' Casulana’s 5-voice book of madrigals, recently rediscovered by Professor Laurie Stras. The concert was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 as well as several other international stations through the European Broadcasting Network.
